Priest Lake Wedding Photography at Elkins Resort by La Luz Photography
This is going to be a whammy of a blog post. Get comfy and enjoy the massive amount of photos coming your way.
Ben and I flew out to Priest Lake, ID to photograph the wedding of Cassie and Matt at the gorgeous Elkin’s Resort. We had never been to Priest Lake before, and oooh, it was a magical, magical place. The weather wasn’t sunny, and it wasn’t warm. But it was foggy, and it was misty and it was all around gorgeous. The really great part about weddings that last all weekend is that the sense of calm around all-involved is just pervasive. Cassie was the picture of calm all day long. Matt stopped by numerous times during the getting ready time to kiss his bride. I loved it. I pretty much loved everything about this wedding.

This crown that Cassie wore has been in Matt’s family for generations. Most of the brides in his family have worn it!
Cassie’s dress gave me flutters in my stomach. Gorgeous to the max.Shooting in Priest Lake is NOT like shooting in Seattle. Love this shot of Matt.Favorite, favorite, favorite.I loved that there was a bit of fall color starting to happen on the grounds of the resort. Those colors meshed so well with Cassie’s dress, hair and wrap.Favorite. Duh.Cassie and her Dad.Matt and Cassie walked down the aisle together. Such a sweet gesture. In the right picture, you can see Cassie and Matt’s salt ceremony, where they mixed salt together and were encouraged to use it in their cooking!Hold onto your hats, ladies and gentlemen. The details of this wedding are truly spectacular. Each of the favor boxes was hand lettered and filled with a game. It was so fun for guests to play their little games together at the table!Oh, and there were hula hoops. Did I mention the hula hoops?Yeah. Favorite.Ahh, Matt. Such a good sport.I mean, really? Jaime and Carissa knocked it out-of-the-park on this one.In the brown paper bags were gifts for the kiddos. The band was pretty much awesome. They’re based out of Montana, but they travel!I had to include this oh-so-glamorous shot of Jamie cutting the cake. 🙂Oh, and then the night ended with a full-length fireworks display. No big deal. That totally happens all the time.
